Young Rebel Goombas

Young Rebel Goombas’ sound is new and fresh, yet draws influences from such iconic acts as Chicago, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett and The Allman Brothers. Features Emmy winning composers Richie Saccente & Cosmo Mallardi. Richie Cannata on sax. Young Rebel Goombas are based in Long Island, New York. Their sound has been classified as “trop-rock”, a blend of rock, blues and tropical rhythms. Richie Saccente plays guitar and shares lead vocals with Cosmo Mallardi, who plays bass guitar. Brian “Uncle Bee” Johnson sings backup vocals and shares percussion duties with John Zona and Randy Knudsen, also on vocals. Kevin McCann plays guitar and sings backup. Rob Cutts plays sax. Additional performers on their debut album include Richie Cannata (sax player for Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beach Boys, etc.) and Bob Cassera on trombone. Mallardi and Saccente received a New York Emmy® award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2007 for composing and arranging the soundtrack for the public television documentary Farmboy.
