Rick Steffen

Rick Steffen is a career musician with a lifelong passion for musical composition and performance. He has been a solo performance artist for over 25 years, and uses his music to inspire us to travel with him to the islands and soak up some soulful fuel for ourselves. A sometimes understated freedom fighter and political activist, surfer, sailor, island traveler, and songwriter on a personal improvement quest, Rick draws from his previous appearances playing bass for the Untils (Floyd Miles), the Shirelles, Sam & Dave, Goode Stuff show band, Virgo Show band, Big Mamma Blue, and his 10 years performing in Ft. Lauderdale, with another 10 years at the top resorts in Key West. His Songwriting has been massaged with his experiences Down-island, on the road, in the water, and from the fresh ocean breezes to create music that tells a story and is emotionally relevant to his lifestyle. Rick’s songs, from 5 Cds, featured the Radio, Margaretville Sirius channel, Permanent Vacation Radio (Pvr.com) and even on several Airline headphone channels, and has played for thousands at county fairs, charity events, and music seafood festivals, but loves nothing more than an intimate setting for a performance, which allows him to interact directly with his audience. In March 2010, Rick independently released his latest Tropical jewel, “More Palm Trees”, and maintains a shore side lifestyle at his home base in Daytona Beach, Florida. He plays in at the Shores Resort in Daytona Shores, and with his steel drummer, with several jaunts to Key West and other premium Island venues, throughout the winter months.
