Bonnie Koon

A third generation Floridian, Bonnie Koon grew up on the banks of the Alafia River in Riverview, Florida. Raised in her grandmothers Beauty Salon & Ceramic shops in Tampa. She began at an early age to use several different mediums. At 16, becoming a Nail Technician expanded her talents. In 2003 the love of her Florida life style, Island life, sun, sand, & flip-Flops… thus the KoonBerrie flip-flop was born. Miniature art and micro miniature art is Bonnies passion. The Florida Keys and Key West has always been Bonnies inspiration. In 2006, at a stilt home on Ramrod Key she became over the fear of painting on a larger scale. The 8 foot palm trees and several different tropical paintings still remain on the house today. In January 2010 together with artist and partner Capt, Fred they started KoonBerries Tropical Art Studio on a quaint canal off of the Alafia. KoonBerries has an array of unique tropical art from flip-flops to horseshoes crabs they call, KoonKrabs.
