Her first book of drawings, “An American Artist Books of Taiwan,” was published after living in the Far East for several years. She is well-known in Key West for her award-winning Fantasy Fest costumes and for her work as window and float designer for Fast Buck Freddie’s department store on Duval Street.
Our little Key West Conch house, where we have lived for over 25 years is located in the middle of the island, about a 10-minute bike ride to downtown or the beach. Behind a tall fence of dense plants and vines, our backyard tropical garden is where we spend most of our time. Under the canopy of giant fruit trees and palms, shady paths lead to many outdoor areas where we live and work. Our meals and most of our creative projects start at the little table under the sapodilla tree. We share our Key West garden with two cats, Melody and Nazz, our border Collie, Savannah, and a changing menagerie of wild birds and lizards that claim the garden as their home each season.
