Thank you for stopping to look at my stone art! The stones are naturally formed. They are the canvas and also a part of the artwork. I use acrylic paints and sealer and very small brushes! I am an artist, face painter, and environmental scientist. I started painting on stones many years ago during summers spent along the Maine coast. At low tide I hunted the shore for the smooth round granite stones and painted lobsters and sailboats on them. Today, my stones come from many places and I paint almost everything I can see and imagine. I paint native Florida birds, mammals, orchids, and shells, and more. I also paint from the inner world, using symbols and fragments of dreams and visions to express myself. Each stone is my favorite and each one has a meaning. If you are drawn to one, there is a message for you. Look up the symbolic meaning of the animal or object and then study it to see what it has to tell you. I would love to take your commission and paint a beloved pet or create a special stone just for you.
