Giving Back
At Green World Gallery, giving back to people and the planet is at the core of our business. Our owners are involved in numerous charitable organizations, and the Gallery sponsors many local events. Keep reading to learn more about our passion projects!
Mary Immaculate Star of the Sea School
This year we supported Mary Immaculate Catholic school in Key West Florida by donating merchandise to their Rock n’ Roast Silent Auction Fundraiser in February 2010. This annual festival combines music, food, and a silent auction including local artwork, merchandise, and gift certificates from local businesses to benefit the school. We love this school because they emphasize spiritual, academic, cultural, and social development alongside traditional learning.
Wesley House Family Services Annual Valentine’s Day Party
Pam and Koz (gallery co-owners) were thrilled to attend the 27th Annual Valentine’s Day Party at the Curry Mansion Inn in Key West in February 2010. This event featured live music, dancing, and the largest silent auction in the Keys. We were proud to donate artwork by Koz to benefit Wesley House Family Services, a local organization dedicated to protecting and nurturing children and strengthening families in Monroe County, Florida.
Wine, Women and Chocolate Benefit
Pam (gallery co-owner) had a blast attending the 5th annual Wine, Women and Chocolate event in February 2010. She completed a 5K outdoor course, taking breaks for mini-manicures and pampering massages. At the end of the course Pam sampled delicious wines and desserts with the other women. Proceeds benefitted the IMA Recreation Association and The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint. IMA is dedicated to improving lives by providing recreational and educational programs in Genesee County Michigan. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint helps to provide every child of Mid-Michigan an opportunity to chase and realize his or her dreams through homework help, exploration of creative talents, and confidence building.
Jamaican Green Life Farms Project
In January 2010, Koz (gallery co-owner and artist) traveled to
St. Mary, Jamaica to learn more about Green Life Farms, an exciting new sustainable farming project being launched by ministry organization The American-Caribbean Experience (ACE). We are proud to be a founding contributor to this very important project. The purpose of Green Life Farms is to teach the next generation of Jamaicans how to make a living from organic farming. Future plans include building a 50 acre children’s village to home some of the neediest and most neglected children in St. Mary’s parish. The village will be environmentally self-sustaining with solar panels and water collection systems.

an G Komen 3-Day Walk For The Cure
Kim (gallery co-owner) has been doing the 3-Day 60 Mile Walk for three years now. Her first walk took place in Michigan in 2008 with best friend Kim. They had been walking together for many years and wanted to be part of something this important. In their first walk, they helped raise $7 million with more than 3,000 men and women participating in Michigan. In her second walk in 2009 in Denver, Kim and her 16-year-old daughter helped raised $2 million with more than 1,000 men and women participating. They had so much fun together that this year both of Kim’s daughters are walking with her in Boston (July 23-26 2010). Each year that Kim walks, she must raise $2,300 just to participate. She relies on help from friends, family, and most of all, strangers who just want to help. Please join her team or make a contribution to her walk today – because everyone deserves a lifetime.
